Keep a copy of your workspace's forms, submissions and attachments on your computer, and export them without a connection: the same WIDE CSV, Stata do-file, .dta and .sav as the console, photos and recordings in a media folder, on a schedule if you like.

2 · Sign in

Open Joripo Desktop and sign in the same way you sign in to the console:

  1. Server name and emailType your organisation's server name and your email, then choose Next.
  2. PasswordYour Joripo password. It is used for this sign-in only and is never saved: Joripo Desktop keeps a read-only sign-in in Windows Credential Manager.

If your organisation runs its own Joripo server, type this server's full address instead of a server name:

Prefer not to type your password into the app? Choose Sign in with the browser: your browser opens this server's sign-in page and you confirm the code Joripo Desktop shows. You can also paste a personal API token.

Owners, managers and reviewers can connect Joripo Desktop. It reads what you can read in the console and cannot change anything. Your connected computers are listed on the Your account page in the console, where you can disconnect one. More in Help › Joripo Desktop.

What it does

Your study's data, on your own computer.

Joripo Desktop is for the analyst or data manager who wants a local copy that keeps itself up to date and exports the way the team's scripts expect.

  • Syncs only what changed

    Each sync fetches new and edited submissions, form versions and media. Attachments are checked against their SHA-256 and resume after a dropped connection.

  • Exports offline

    Exports come from the local copy with the same export engine as the server: WIDE CSV, do-file, .xlsx, .dta, .sav and long format, plus a PDF export report of counts.

  • Runs on a schedule

    A Windows scheduled task can sync and export a workspace every few minutes, hourly or daily, even when the app is closed.

  • Same privacy rules

    Identifying answers are masked exactly as they are in the console for anyone without identity access.

  • Opens existing desktop study folders

    Export an existing SurveyCTO Desktop data folder with Joripo's engine, without changing the original folder.

  • Good to know

    Windows only. Study folders are plain files on your computer, not encrypted by Joripo, so keep them on a computer your organisation protects.
