Getting started

Plans, limits and usage

What a plan limits, which limits are firm and which only record an overage, and how a plan is changed.

On this page

Every organisation is on a plan, which sets how many forms it may have and how many submissions and how much storage a month it is expected to use. The plans and their limits are on the pricing page.

What you use

Plan & usage (Configure, for owners and managers) shows your plan, its limits and what you use of each this month: forms, submissions and storage (submissions and their attachments, measured in binary megabytes).

Firm and soft limits

  • The forms limit is firm. At it, a new form cannot be added (by upload, the form builder or Duplicate) until you delete one or move to a larger plan. Uploading a new version of an existing form is always allowed. Forms in deleted workspaces do not count; restoring a workspace counts them again.
  • The submissions and storage limits are soft. Going over them refuses nothing: data from the field keeps arriving, because refusing it would lose research data. The overage is recorded and shown to you and to the server's maintainer.

Changing plan

Joripo takes no payment online. Upgrade or buy a subscription on Plan & usage tells the Joripo team which plan you want; the team agrees the terms with you and then sets the plan on your organisation. Compare plans opens the pricing page.

The Free plan does not end; a paid plan's end date, if it has one, is shown on Plan & usage. The server's maintainer sets plans, limits and end dates from Server administration, and is the only one who can.

On a server you run yourself

On your own server you are the maintainer: you choose each organisation's plan and limits, and an organisation can be given no limit at all. See Organisations, people and phones.
