Server settings, device configuration and apps
The device address, the configuration every Joripo Collect phone applies, announcements, sign-up and maintenance mode, publishing the apps, and the audit log.
Joripo documentation · https://joripo.com/docs/server-administration/server-settings
Device address
The one public address every organisation's sign-in codes, collection links and Joripo Collect sign-ins use (Server administration › Device address). Organisations see it read-only under Configure. The server checks that an address answers as this server before using it. See Reaching the server from the field.
Default device configuration
What every Joripo Collect phone applies, delivered when a phone signs in and at every status check:
- the approval policy for new phones;
- auto-send: always, on Wi-Fi only, or only when someone taps Send;
- update checks and installing form updates;
- swipe navigation;
- GPS accuracy: record at 5 m, confirm a reading worse than 100 m (a form's own
parametersoverride these for its questions); - the date and time default: now, or blank;
- photo size;
- backups on the phone and deleting answers after sending;
- the app lock;
- Phone may change: which of auto-send, update checks, update installs, swiping, the date default and photo size an enumerator may change in the phone's Settings (none by default; the value set here stays the default).
Announcements
A message shown on every console page, on a data collector's page and in Joripo Collect, for the organisations you choose (or all), until it ends.
Settings
- Self-service sign-up, open or closed for the whole server. It is open by default;
SIGNUP_ENABLED=falsestarts a server with it closed. One address may sign up three times an hour. - Maintenance mode, with its message. The console, the API, web forms, sign-in and sign-up answer with the message, and every phone's submission is refused with it, so phones keep their finalized forms and send them later. Form downloads, the public pages, the health check and Server administration stay open.
Apps
Apps publishes Joripo Collect (a signed Android package) and Joripo Desktop (a Windows installer) on this server's /app and /desktop pages, and to the apps' own update checks. Before publishing, the server checks the package name, the signature, that the version number is higher than the one published, and that the signing key is the same as before, so a phone can always install the new version over the old one. Until a version is published, /app tells people to ask the maintainer. Installers are not in backups: publish them again after a restore.
Audit log
Every recorded action on the server, newest first, filtered by person, action, organisation, outcome and dates. Nothing can edit or delete an entry. Each organisation sees its own part of it as its activity log.
